This was a great busy day. Jon was available to help all of us in the family.
First he weeded with the kids (I went to exercise)
Next he put up the dog run for the new dog.
Then he helped the kids with their bikes - pumping up tires, replacing tires, tightening loose bolts. I loved that he planned on doing this, he bought the necessary materials the night before. (It seems like we are in constant need of bike repairs.) However, this Saturday was important because it was the first full day of action on the new cement.
Here are some highlights.
I actually rode this bike and did it too, but nobody took my picture . . . I wonder why?
Then we were invited to the Scera Swimming Pool in Orem, because Jared is now an orthodontic patient of Dr. Brandon Fairbanks. just a 1/2 hour before we left we got a rental call. One of our renters said that there was inches of water in her basement apartment. Her husband was out of town and she had been gone all day. So I took the kids to the party and Jon went to the apartment to assess. He never made it to the party. . .
This is Jared doing a "back flop" he hit so hard that he was crying when he came up.
After the party we went to support Jon and bring him a Rug Doctor. He had been using a dust pan to collect gallons of water and then had the idea of getting the carpet machine. I rented it and brought it to him. Here he is about 12:30 p.m. still a great attitude through the whole thing!
I made Jonnie stay with him and work and I took the kids to bed at home. Jon and Jonnie worked until about 3 a.m. and then slept at their apt.
You can't see the water damage. But it went extensively into each of the 3 rooms. We stopped counting after dumping over 50 gallons of water out through these machines!!!
Soaking wet. In our 16 years of rentals this is the worst leak. It came from the toilet. However, the blessing is that it was clean water going to the toilet. It leaked all day long. However, the blessing is that the tenant went home before leaving town for the weekend and called us and we were going into Orem right then. It was bad, the worst we have had, but it could have been worse, way worse. Jon bought the $5 part and fixed the toilet in 5 minutes. Needless to say, 24 hours later and we are still trying to dry out the carpet!!!
